Help Customers Integrate Benefits into Advantageous Predictable Storylines.
Stories alternate progression & regression in personal goals & social connections. Whether products are used socially, effects influence self-perceptions, which can shape social interactions & life-stories.
If storylines shifted unfavorably, did people misinterpret external factors or fail because of inadequate assets or despite good resources? What was misinterpreted? Which choices brought failure?
If people surrender, stagnation cancels happy endings. After numerous losses, victory seems out-of-reach & surrendering cuts losses.
Guide experience reevaluations to convert fulfilled expectations into steps toward happiness & unfulfilled expectations into improvement lessons. Positive expectations & lessons open alternatives when knowledge & attitudes inspire actions.
Problem remedies can cause side effects & conflict with other life aspects while disrupting happy endings. Negative assumptions seem safer if people are unsure whether unfamiliar products & conditions might increase risks. Even if circumstances stagnate, familiarity seems safer than unfamiliar changes.
Early-adopters want new technologies, willingly confront incompatibilities & contribute developmental insights about problems & benefits. If suppliers share early-adopters' input, use it to coach customers in using products early enough to prevent or limit problems.
Technology compatibilities can increase progress but incompatibilities increase burdens. Because conditions differ & each household uses different products, manufacturers can't fully predict incompatibilities.
Many consumers won't buy until necessities are imperative &/or drawbacks are eliminated. Consultations & pre-need practice can establish familiarity with requirements, so customers prepare to recognize & mitigate trouble.
Without accurate problem recognition, people might use convenient, familiar but inadequate products. Without owning recognized products for recognized problems, people might buy familiar discount products.
Without full problem recognition, people might treat symptoms & indulge in success delusion when symptoms recede, though problems remain.
Since we're sensitive to potential stereotypes, let's continue using Marshall Goldsmith's bear-salmon Success Delusion analogy.
If anthropomorphized salmon conclude their major problem is predators can see them in shallow rivers, turning back might seem safer. By agreeing to spawn while bears hibernate, salmon could encounter totally frozen spawning areas, so delays are counterproductive.
Comfortable Familiarity Won't Guarantee Success.
Advantage offers include insightful opportunity & problem information, so people choose successful options.
Use advertising frequency & reach to make offers familiar plus make products convenient with pre-need knowledge.
Some learn better through doing activities, but hesitate about learning lessons from mistakes. What's the minimum information consumers need for recognizing problems plus recognizing you as a convenient, authoritative source?
Just-in-time actions should include pre-need learning & practice. Start prevention before full symptom onset. Start solutions before problems become irreversible. Prevention & solution refinements result from repetitive evaluation, learning & practice processes as people achieve confidence.
Because troubles differ widely, alertness is vital but unproductive until people combine alertness with refined identification. Excessive caution might overload mental processing & attention, so people don't notice details & mistakes delay benefits.
Offer Example: '(Store) acquired (products) which you can use to __. Let's consult about circumstances & requirements. If you need different product versions, let's check wholesalers' listings. Discounters have limited choices. At (Store), you have voice plus choice. Ask questions so we can find answers, if you don't understand benefits of products & techniques. Since your success requires more than products, (Store) offers insightful information & guidance to find tutorials for developing skills applying to your tools, materials & circumstances. Let's be sure your plans & preparations fit your goals. At (Store), your chosen product & service combinations will bring you confidence.'
Familiar Circumstances & Strange Twists
Even if natal rivers wouldn't change, spawning salmon are different than ocean-bound fry. Adults' slower upstream swimming & size makes them attractive to predators. Bears don't seem dangerous to undetected fry.
After avoiding hooks, nets & predators in oceans, salmon could feel confident since rivers are shallower & narrower with fewer attack opportunities, but bears attack differently.
Memories might indicate reality & influence expectations which are assumptions about reality.
If based only on familiar threats, plans breakdown quickly. Reality-checks might embarrass some customers, but you can request permission to explain reasons: 'Though this equipment is expensive, let's explore why this (repair/replacement) is important for you.'
New Warranted Vehicles Can Be Burdensome.
Problem preventions & remedies can relieve burdens but add others. Example: Barely damaged vehicles could be functionally repaired but emission-reduction & safety technology replacement costs exceed vehicle resale values.
Necessary technology repairs become unaffordable, so recent models become junk. Even if intact components are valuable, would technicians charge excessively to install used components to repair salvaged vehicles? Would there be affordable warranties & insurance?
If totally refurbished products' purchase & operation costs approach new product prices, would people expect offsetting values: convenience, reliability/durability/confidence, comfort, etc.?
People might purchase privately without realizing moderately damaged technology becomes unpredictable.
If unguided purchases become mistakes, happy endings are unlikely. Wise decisions are necessary for fulfilling responsibilities. Unwise actions disrupt confidence with increased stress whether actions are short missions or long-term pursuits.
If life-story chapters become worse, people might prefer stagnation. Your consultations can bring incremental improvements to show customers' emerging chapters can be better.
Conflicting Desires, Expectations & Beliefs
Despite desiring & expecting quick improvements, people might disbelieve quick-fix offers. Explain how you develop integrated benefits & why they're important.
Offer Example: '(Store) offers integrate into your life. This means while consulting, we'll determine circumstantial causes & effects plus product & technique combinations to achieve your goals. Let's compare product & technique benefits to your expected opportunities, so you'll be ready for plan implementation.'
Whether creation & maintenance activities/projects represent sprints or marathons, people's preparations & results affect confidence. Without confidence, stress builds into fatigue & interferes with judgment & implementation.
Mistakes raise stress & downward spirals multiply. Guide consumers' perceptions of successful achievements, then offer resources for winning races.
However people design stories or missions, benefit eagerness should be balanced with costs of acquiring implementable knowledge & skills. People may act prematurely without testing if complex tasks seem easy.
Testing can reveal benefits, but deeper explorations & benefit developments require insightful knowledge & skills acquired through actions. If customers learn from incremental steps that don't fulfill expectations, label those as tests.
No Problem or No Reported Problems
Salmon successfully swim to oceans but eaten salmon can't report spawning failures, so each year salmon expect successes.
If you don't find enough insightful knowledge from shared discoveries, help customers create personal lessons.
As conditions change, people should verify expectations based on memories, perceptions, education &/or observations.
Tests are developed to define limits of applicability & functionality. Successful tests might show resources &/or techniques aren't functional in some circumstances. It means other resources & methods should be tested.
Risks remain until somebody explores possible resources & tries actions to develop &/or combine resources & techniques.
Adequacy is generally definable but criteria are specifically applicable. Other people's lessons & observations can reveal risks that indicate preparation criteria. Some needs might become apparent after starting.
If typical criteria are low-prices, people might not explore criteria for each need. Since people hesitate about spending more than necessary, explain what could be lost & how high-quality products ensure opportunities &/or prevent losses.
Planning, skill-building & resource acquisitions should be iterative. Potential losses might become apparent at various steps & make prevention possible. Skills should fit resources & fulfill steps, so finished plans make each step achievable.
After people define expectations & projects (life-story chapters) emerge as expected, disruptions can be like awakening in different stories. Plot twists make stories interesting & possibly hard to follow, so people might struggle with explanations.
Internally, these disruptions put other priorities off-track like derailed trains blocking traffic. A life is like a track & priorities are like trains. When high priorities are derailed, people delay other priorities until tracks are cleared & repaired.
Contrary facts & theories blow in like windstorms. Despite facts being equally true, people shouldn't force-fit them if they fit different conditions. Example: Repaired roofs don't rain-proof houses. Wind can blow rain around window frames.
When people are more concerned about price than applicability, they're tempted to imagine short-term results are functional. Instead of regretting cheap stuff purchases & getting barely adequate satisfaction, people should know what's possible & practical.
Product benefits are easy to explain but harder to make interesting. Differentiate by showing interest in customers & you'll seem more interesting to them. Make offers about local people based on your research which shows your interest in them.
After receiving your messages, people's confirmation research is easier than in-depth research. Their thoughts & questions probe memories: 'I remember that happened.' 'I've felt that.' 'I've noticed that.' 'Did you experience it?'
After that confirmation, people might check other sources for details but personal verification is more meaningful.
As people verify functionality & durability of their value creations, advantage offers present more potential value people hope for.
Functional hope applies to integrating products, skills & insightful facts. Force-fitting is NOT integration. Force-fitting cheap stuff with top-quality products causes malfunctions & derails priorities.
Ensure progress with top-quality products made for specific purposes without degradation from cheap products.

Share Beliefs & Match Criteria to Integrate Customers' Success with Yours.
While reading this, consider consumers evaluating personal beliefs while strange external beliefs invade too quickly for full evaluations.
Seeing is believing unless people stubbornly ignore, misinterpret &/or reject uncomfortable details. Nobody perfectly perceives all details or whether issues are pertinent to goals.
Confirmation biases are decisions of what's true or would be without complications. What are niche members' preferences for resolving complications? Advertise into customers' beliefs including empowerment to maintain or improve reality.
Since people's confidence wanes, do your offers support biases or make advantages reachable with specific resources?
Offer Example: 'Since weather supports & hinders plants, gardeners need integrated knowledge & products. (Store) kits customize instructions to integrate products & skills with tutorials. Local problem evaluations guide products & skills integration to harness positive factors with fewer negatives. Make gardens pleasant challenges with strategic tilling, mulching & planting fitting your goals, soil & weather.'
Advantage Offers Combine Mental & Physical Benefits.
Continual disappointments seemingly confirm failure delusions (perceived impossibilities). Customized kits generate possibilities to augment customers' life stories or chapters. Kits boost abilities, so people can establish, support &/or extend self-confidence.
Let’s continue extending Marshall Goldsmith’s success delusion analogy & avoid human stereotypes by anthropomorphizing bears & salmon with piranha protectors. (This post ends with straight advice.)
This nonpolitical analogy (below) demonstrates serving niches. It seems strange until you consider current controversies from opponents competing for "truth" & rejecting each other. How will you compete when people are comfortable with lies?
If nature or society pressures salmon to spawn, "SHOULD" &/or "CAN" beliefs could inspire actions.
Belief Formation: 'I should spawn, but can I? Previous adults haven't returned, so how would we know spawning is still possible? When we left, some eggs remained. Do fry come from those? Are scientists lying about unproductive eggs?'
Integrate INFORMATION into Belief FORMATION.
While deciding & planning, what do salmon believe about themselves, responsibilities & conditions? What are their preparation criteria? Do they want or believe they need help? What would ensure proficient goal achievements, so salmon decide to act?
Salmon might reject piranhas as unnecessary consultants or extreme escorts because salmon adequately survived danger & fulfilled opportunities for years. Ocean-bound salmon haven't seen bears. Salmon don't return to oceans & report bear troubles.
Danger awareness OR upstream swimming could be manageable until concurrent difficulties emerge. Simultaneous mental AND physical exertions cause exhaustion.
Though salmon don't survive spawning experiences or bear encounters, bears have observed case studies &/or experiences with salmon. Would sensible salmon go unprotected because they reject piranhas without bear experiences? Are salmon like many humans prioritizing pride over physical safety?
Salmon could be deluded about probabilities of spawning successfully since their parents spawned. While living in oceans, adults don't see bears eating salmon. Would they be convinced by bear attack videos or pictures of rotting fish scraps eaten by scavengers? When unprepared salmon learn bears are real, it's too late to avoid danger.
Salmon could think their population indicates their parents were safe enough to spawn.
Counter Argument: If swimming upstream is easy & safe, why aren't thousands preparing to spawn? Females can have thousands of eggs. Males have milt for thousands of offspring. In safe conditions, hundreds of adults could propagate thousands of offspring. Logical questions can prompt reconsideration of beliefs & options.
(Advertise observable facts, so skeptics notice customers' successes & reassess confirmation biases about unsolvable problems.)
If salmon don't implement protective or preventative actions, bears are apt to attack. Salmon won't get second chances. Piranha might save salmon by doing "extreme" things to bears.
Protection drones might be invented if piranhas' successes are judged as extreme. If bears witness piranha attacks, salmon might avoid extreme actions with remote-controlled passive drones to scare, but not attack bears. (Remote-controls require thumbs? It's an analogy!)
Would bears learn to identify drones & attack salmon? Would bears invent drones to hunt & serve-up prey?
Attack drone marketers might compare passive drones to drone (male) bees without stingers. 'You won't be protected if drones can't attack enemies.' Passive drone marketers would exploit any cases of "extreme actions". Bears would judge any salmon defenses as extreme violence.
Optimal protection could seem extreme or minimal depending on biases. If salmon want full protection without controversy, should they avoid danger (change spawning practices), risk danger by using minimal measures or ensure safety despite criticism of violence?
Testing is necessary but should salmon start with maximum measures then decrease, or minimum then increase? Depending on criteria, the same results seem inadequate or excessive.
Marketers could avoid consultations but recommend products & procedures with testimonials &/or case studies. But without collaboration, how would retailers & customers find resources to maximize effectiveness without excessiveness?
How Would You Counter Objections Of Extreme Practices?
Piranhas won't attack bears on land. Bears might be attacked while drinking or crossing rivers peacefully. How would piranhas or drones differentiate peaceful bears from predators? Though bears don't warn prey, should bears be warned about piranhas?
If piranha recruitment is salmons' only effective, efficient protective & preventative action, "STEP-1" could be hiring one piranha as a test. If that piranha goes with the first salmon contingent & makes an example of a bear, other bears could attack while the piranha is busy.
Some bears would think they'll defeat any fish because they've defeated many. How many piranhas would be necessary to cause bears to stay away? How many piranha-bear case studies would "prove" piranhas caused bears to stop attacking?
After piranhas would be accepted as escorts, should they consult with salmon to maximize plans & resources? Would communication devices help fish exchange questions & answers or report expected plus unexpected results? Fish-to-fish communication devices can inspire confidence & reduce stress. If salmon didn't request help, reducing stress would conserve energy. Salmon could be more productive & enjoy traveling.
(If people don't actively use products/services, benefit availability is like insurance. Though insurance premiums might seem wasted, financial protection is reassuring.)
Would communication/in-transit consultations help piranhas adjust current & future offers? In-progress incremental tests can bring quick results & adjustments instead of waiting to learn afterward or acting based on historically different conditions. Direct observational & experiential applications can preserve emerging benefits while actions are functional.
Piranhas might survive even if salmon become prey, but without salmon spawning, the customer-base would shrink. Piranha should interview salmon while they evaluate positives & negatives plus record testimonials. Did salmon feel personally secure? Were they uncertain about achieving their goal? Did they understand how & why products & actions were/weren't efficacious?
Salmon might think they're safer in numbers because they can overwhelm bears. It'd only work because some salmon are caught while others swim past. Salmon might object to recruiting predatory fish while justifying how they prey on smaller fish.
As Our World Churns, So Do We!
How will defend yourself & customers who use products for unintended purposes?
Whichever niche you choose, you'll need to defend customers to yourself & others. If you switch away from unprofitable niches, how would you justify your prior defense? How would you justify switching?
Advantage offers demonstrate loyalty to customers, so they justify integrating your store because they prefer specific products, principles & practices. What do niche members stand for/against? How do you support their stance? Passion for people motivates people's mutual support.
If you lose or don't have a passionate affinity for your niche, products/services & insightful knowledge, how will you continue day-after-day. You might logically defend choices to yourself & others, but you should have emotive energy.
Zig Ziglar said enthusiasm means "I Am Sold Myself". Selling includes internal & external logic & emotion.
Jim Collins's Hedgehog Concept is based on understanding 3 intersecting circles: "what you can be the best in the world at, what you are deeply passionate about, and what best drives your economic or resource engine."
Your dedication grows from your passion for profitably developing your talents & insightful knowledge to help people create & maintain advantages. Compelling offer descriptions boost rapport by expressing your dedication & connecting your passion to consumers' passion. Rapport attracts customers & holds them in your orbit as integration increases.
Express how benefits combine into advantages & why these are important for customers, plus why customer integration is advantageous for them & you. Customer integration means you're united, so continued integration builds & maintains more advantages.
Establish Your Niche. Join The Team.
If you offer similar products, differentiate from competitors with insightful knowledge for specific people's goals. If you don't have testimonials or case studies, refer to product reviews. Without identifying people, advise checking news reports, especially about people who disregarded warnings.
People might be confident about success despite hazards & be unprepared until you present indications with precautions & remedies. As you create customer satisfaction, present testimonials & case studies about using insightful information with criteria to diagnose & overcome problems.
Discount product-price offers show discounters lack facts about products & consumers' conditions. That price focus shows concern about money. Insufficient facts show discounters aren't teammates concerned about consumers' results.

Create New Familiarity with Effective, Efficient Offers
Though customer integration won't bring instant riches, it connects consumers' lives to retailers by building incremental success & reciprocal benefits. It optimizes customers' conditions with customized advantages beyond generic 'What's In It For Me?' offers of trading products & money.
After observing local successful advertising, check marketers’ social-media & mass-media outreach for examples of integration with people’s lives.
Even if you refuse integration, make advantage offers like urgent care prescriptions including: 1) indications: understanding what to solve &/or prevent; 2) contraindications: determining what not to use or stop doing; 3) prognosis: expectations to determine if treatments are effective & complete.
Insightful knowledge makes offers advantageous, so customers confidently, comfortably do necessary things to optimize long-term advantages.
Comfort Is Added Value
Naturally comfortable emotions can seem logical because they feel compatible. What makes your offers fit so naturally in customers' lives, anything less wouldn’t make sense? How can you make results completely advantageous? Advantage offers bring as much satisfying accomplishment as customers can afford.
Favorite authors/performers understand fans & magnetically attract people who feel naturally comfortable connections. Even if their criteria are nonverbal, fans' devotion feels so deeply vital, they defend its relevance.
Customer integration offers connect to & protect what people want to preserve, add value to or create.
When people experience benefits through viewing, hearing &/or reading creators’ samples, nascent connections start bridging gaps. People want to complete & maintain those connections to avoid losing those gains. When you integrate your store into people's lives, there's value people don't want to lose.
Offer Knowledge to Create New Familiarity
Unfamiliarity seems uncomfortably threatening enough to disintegrate people's achievements. People cling to comfortable, familiar things, so explain how offers connect effectively, efficiently with people's lives.
Ill-advised familiar things can feel "objectively" &/or subjectively compelling because people equate familiarity with safe expectations.
People might prefer familiar stressors over uncertainties. Progress could bring relief but entails confronting unknowns.
Mixed (Yes? Maybe?) emotions disrupt people's commitments to benefit creation & maintenance. Consider how uncertainties affect approach/avoid (accept/reject) dynamics of interpersonal rapport & reputations.
Build your reputation & rapport (reasons to purchase) by decreasing uncertainties. People avoid stress of potentially foolish mistakes by rejecting uncertain challenges that threaten internal peace (self-rapport).
Case study testimonials & descriptive risk-reversal (refund/exchange) offers can inspire comfort by settling uncertainties. I don’t mean ‘Product $32 with 30-day return policy’. Product returns are energy/time-consuming hassles.
Advantage offer descriptions help people with cognitive labor by clarifying purchase decisions. Explain how advantageous products achieve goals, so product returns are only necessary for defects.
Offer Example: ‘Before storms hit, (advantage) seems optional. Prevention preserves your (benefit) so you don’t need to deal with problems or hassle with insurance adjusters. (Store) inspires comfort & confidence with these product & service criteria: __. What are your criteria for (result)? Whether you've set (advantage) goals or want guidance, (Store) has information & advice about goal-setting & achievement plus optimal product choices. Discounters profit by taking money from people who tolerate low-quality standards. Do discounters conform to your criteria? (Store) offers necessities for (advantage) goals. Defective products can be returned for refunds or exchanges. Now it’s up to you to accept this offer, so you can confidently experience (advantage). Will you choose a product supplier & service collaborator like (Store)?’
Cognitive labor can become cognitive friction for consumers having insufficient information & insights to optimize labor.
Suboptimal methods, tools & materials lead to excessive effort wearing people down like friction.
People think decisions are wrong if energy, time &/or products are wasted. Criteria can predetermine potential waste plus preserve resources.
It’s easy to think good decisions bring good processes & results. "Good" is a contextual judgment, so help people recognize contextual criteria.
People might give up or deviate from plans if unrealistic project criteria indicate failure.
Since people tend to rationalize emotional purchases, explain logical justifications for desires & prices. Add logic for comparing competitive offers plus avoiding buyers' remorse.
Customer integration includes the logic of 'Let's be sure we create & maintain the right advantages' so customers are assured they won't regret purchases.
Potential regrets can establish tipping points away from your offers. Don't expect people to make tipping points favor you; you're responsible for establishing emotional & logical tipping points. Explain pleasures plus pain reductions, so people will know what they'll lose if they don't buy from you.
Successfully Prepare For Safety & Danger
If prevention/solution attempts &/or opportunity fulfillments are misperceived as successful, failures might not be perceived until second chances aren’t practical.
If second chances are possible after preventions & solutions fail, people might await literal or perceptual storms passing &/or product availability. “Storms” could be whatever diminishes results, wastes investments &/or obstructs recovery.
As people succeed, confidence preserves personal reserves. Failures undermine reserves, so people lose confidence & are unmotivated to risk anything.
Would better products & methods produce resilient enough advantages to encourage people to try again? What would be people's resilience criteria? Which case study testimonials would demonstrate resilience?
You can create case study projects for publicity & easy confirmation. Which businesses & consumers would work with you to produce resilient advantages? Steps could be recorded & you could offer insightful knowledge for adapting steps for people’s needs & abilities. Include what-ifs, so people recognize actions to do or avoid & to assure progress.
If second attempts can be productive, people might not know whether to: 1) choose products according to current skills or available tutorials; or 2) check product availability to determine which skills to learn.
Guide purchases & learning simultaneously based on needs & goals, so customers avoid delays by preparing themselves & conditions while opportunities can be optimized.
People might prepare without defining full preparation. It isn’t pessimistic to consider what-ifs. Even if customers buy all supplies & plan optimal steps, what-ifs indicate when to ask for guidance about potential interruptions.
Won't Get You There
Since June 2022 without human stereotypes, we've extended Marshall Goldsmith’s bear salmon analogy about avoiding success delusion.
When starting journeys, salmon might be optimal but only spawn once possibly because of genetics or self-sacrifice in suboptimal conditions. They seem to sense success in finding natal rivers & dash upstream without eating. They’re equipped for spawning but barely equipped for threats or obstacles.
Anthropomorphized salmon might think they’re safer in shallow rivers between rocks where sharks & lamprey eels can’t attack from below.
Salmon are optimized for swimming & males might fight others in water. Bears & birds grab fish from above. Salmon can’t escape those attacks by diving into river silt or turning in tight spaces.
Though seized fish seem to fight, they’re trying to swim away which doesn’t work in air. Fish might successfully escape or fight bigger water-dwelling predators & expect similar future success.
While swimming in rivers, salmon are in predators' familiar territory. Predators have evolved into riverbed territory, but salmon hatch, leave & return to spawn then die.
Evolution is nature’s way of experimenting, optimizing & keeping what works. Learning about options improves survival but as conditions change, salmon don’t stay to explain life lessons to hatchlings.
As discounters come & go, show how you & customers can adapt & thrive together.
Jim Collins Offers Good Insights.
His Hedgehog Concept is inspired by hedgehogs' effective self-protection against foxes. However, SUVs could hit rolled-up hedgehogs while foxes watch for threats & flee. While crossing highways, hedgehogs should be aware of other threats even during fox attacks.
One method can fail against other threats if rolled-up hedgehogs become caked with mud & blinded while successfully resisting foxes. Testing & practice are vital to develop methods for changing opportunities & threats.
Imperfect performances seem wasteful but appropriate unsuccessful attempts are better than perfect methods mismatched for conditions. Example: Bears catch salmon swimming over rocks.
Could outdated, rolled-up retailers convince consumers there's nothing to fear in pursuing opportunities? Rolled-up retailers survive against big competitors until consumers want different offers.
Hedgehogs might roll-up differently in wet weather or for nonlethal nuisances. It could be wise for hedgehogs to keep an eye open, listen & be sensitive to ground vibrations to monitor if foxes attack, leave or crowd around.
Would walking away & monitoring for threats & opportunities be better than trying to run? Which weather conditions are threats or increase vulnerability to other threats? Which weather conditions reduce predators’ abilities?
There are issues to consider in adapting Hedgehog Concept 3 circles based on conditions to achieve goals & prevent problems.
What indicates conditions can’t be sufficiently suppressed or assets can’t be adequately adapted? How easily could vulnerabilities be decreased? Which criteria would reveal if efforts should be expended or suspended as vulnerabilities increase or fade? What would indicate too much &/or outdated reliance on established abilities? What indicates other options are necessary?
Retailers might inadvertently discover their Hedgehog Concept 3 circles are effective. Without knowing reasons, it's hard to know how to increase effectiveness & efficiency. Insightful evaluation is better than luck. Resilience requires adapting resources & testing methods while conditions change.
Thank you for using my blog. Please let me know if I should clarify anything.

Do You Need People to Accept Unfamiliar Offers?
Are you doing what’s necessary for your store to be & remain a popular choice for a benefit?
Do you test or reject conceptual offers & innovative methods? If you reject unfamiliar marketing methods, why expect consumers to buy what they haven't tried?
Don’t expect different results without trying different methods & offers to attract different people.
“Are You Talking To Me?”
Identify intended recipients. Authentic niche members know enough to evaluate product benefits & your advantages when you compare those with members’ lives & goals. Describe how offers are better than people's current experiences & competitive offers.
To adequately test offers, you need enough authentic niche members to interrupt routines to evaluate benefits & advantages. Help people justify purchases with details. What’s special enough about offers to warrant people postponing other things to concentrate & buy?
People Disregard Been-There-Done-That Offers.
Product names & prices don’t offer advantages to accept or reject. People can engage with offers of specifically customized product benefits to achieve goals.
If people don’t engage regularly with your offers, you aren’t in their routines. Most probably don’t routinely pay attention to & evaluate your offers.
Test offers to determine which facts induce people’s curiosity & preliminary confidence to inquire. When people inquire, consultations can connect your advantages to people’s goals.
If you won’t break routines to adequately test offers, why would you expect anybody to break their routines?
Some retailers complain about fickle consumers, but some retailers are so fickle, they don’t experiment.
Do You Reject Anything That Isn’t a Proven Success?
For those who only invest in proven successful methods, invest in Sears, Roebuck/Kmart. Their combined methods were built in more than a century of power. Oops, they didn’t last!
Long-term success happens when people start small & adjust based on results. Mainstream methods started as theories before becoming dull, unnoticed routines. You need new messages relevant to people’s goals because advertising success depends on Attention, Interest, Desire, & Action.
Realistic retailers test approaches to find new successes & readily replace fading business practices. It only happens by investing a percentage of revenue into testing new options. Long-term successes come from creating methods to find better approaches & replacing lower performing practices.
If you copy mainstream advertising methods, copies would be new in your conditions but old for consumers.
Advertising success starts with earning attention with opportunities relevant to consumers concerns.
Diversify To Optimally Compete For Attention.
In repetitive surroundings, do you notice new things more than familiar things?
When you use repetitive methods, they blend in with common surroundings.
Humans perceive familiar things as settled because threats &/or benefits seem to be reduced, so more attention seems unnecessary.
If threats still have longer term effects, change explanations so people understand how your advantages make product benefits more effective &/or efficient. Explain why offers are better than current conditions & competitors’ offers.
It’s important to have an option portfolio so you can depend on what’s currently strong while replacing weaker options.
Build multiple success streams of new advantages for consumers, so your store will thrive even when some streams falter.
Instead of continually investing resources in old, worn out methods, you can consistently achieve AIDA with new, innovative methods. People notice & pay attention to new value like descriptions of advantages you add to product benefits.
People are interested in what’s advantageous in achieving goals. People desire what increases value of current & planned possessions. You’re responsible for compelling value descriptions. People are less hesitant to quickly acquire superior value when retailers help them understand how to maximize results, benefits & advantages.
You could lose more money by advertising the same offers people didn’t prioritize & buy already. If people link stale offers to your store, they might ignore future offers.
Product, service & business differentiation requires compelling value descriptions. If you don’t influence consumers’ perceptions, you’ll lose sales to competitors’ better efforts. It’s your responsibility to increase perceived value & decrease perceived risks of buying from you.
Cognitive Labor & Perceived Value
Don’t expect people instinctively to understand value or feel compelled to investigate products. People go to discounters for generic offers that don't warrant detailed descriptions. If you believe your offers are special, demonstrate that value with details.
Which offers have more perceived value? 1) Discounters’ cheap stuff; 2) Indifferent retailers’ expensive, generic offers; or 3) Empathetic retailers describing advantages for people to optimize results.
Descriptions build knowledge & show you know people’s conditions, so people feel comfortable about purchasing. Your specialized knowledge builds people’s confidence in unfamiliar products.
Despite discomfort about risks of spending money, people might feel driven by uncomfortable conditions & desire for your advantages. Describe persuasive value to decrease discomfort of spending money & perceived risks of buying.
Offer Full Advantages
If benefits increase incrementally, tracking progress is important to maximize results & check for reversals.
Examples: 1) Health products slowly decrease problems by increasing healing, but if healing slows or stops, problems could advance. 2) Plants might grow without producing food. Opportunities can be lost if remedies are done late in growing seasons. 3) If mold remediation succeeds slowly, spreading spores can cause medical problems & property damage.
People might overlook slow deterioration if effects aren’t measured because conditions might seem normal.
Customers need to know if negative causes are nuisances or problems, so resources are used well for priorities.
Ads should alert people about conditions that sustain problems. Offers should include resources for checking symptoms, remediating problems & repairing damage.
Offer more than physical results & show concern for people, not just sales. Planning consultations reduce overwhelming feelings & improve long-term quality so people are confident.
When people feel overwhelmed by priorities, acknowledging problems adds more obligations. People might feel less neglectful if they don't look for problems (error of omission) than by (committing errors) neglecting recognized problems.
Write offer stories so people recognize causes & consequences plus understand how optimal solutions reduce obligations.
Example: ‘Just as your vacation is set, you notice (problem) as you prepare to leave stress behind. Your money & time are committed, so (problem) feels worse. (Store) offers kits for quick diagnosis & solutions. You’ll reduce stress without disrupting plans & enjoy your vacation.’
Be Open Minded
You’re hypocritical if you stubbornly refuse to change approaches but expect people adopt your ideas.
I wouldn’t do you any favors if I didn’t include unpleasant truths. To serve people, you need to present reasons & explanations even if people are uncomfortable. People need to know why, what & how they should change.
Example: ‘Paint $10’ doesn’t express value of What’s In It For Me? I want sweet beverages, why would I want your paint? If I pay you $10, I’ll have fewer desired benefits. Wait! What might happen if I don’t use your paint?
It’s easy to ignore offers without reasons to pay attention. People need priorities because nobody can pay attention to everything.
People attend to things connected with survival, comfort & self-actualization goals. You’re responsible for making offers connect to people’s priorities.
To have enough mental energy for productivity, people have perceptual & mental filters. If something is perceived at any level, it’s probably 1) connected with people’s priorities; 2) unfamiliar enough for pleasant variety or 3) potentially threatening.
When people are distracted by other issues, attention is sporadic & interest in offers can increase incrementally. Offers can connect while or after issues arise. People might disregard offers that aren’t connected with expected issues.
Social tensions raise people’s defenses & distract from low priorities.
It’s important to promote offers at various times, so messages can be perceived while people aren’t defending against other issues or focusing on more pleasant things. Incremental perception & reception can be like overlapping radio stations. Stronger signals on the same frequencies can be received more clearly than weaker signals that are barely perceived.
Changing antenna or radio positions can affect signal reception. People's receptivity changes when internal & external issues affect mental positions.
When messages are received while people experience related issues, you can connect to people’s priorities. If people missed part of your message & your offer fits their priorities, humans can remember & assemble pieces.
Each message exposure helps people integrate rationales incrementally.
Example: People receive parts of an automotive offer. Even if drivers think they don’t need brake service, ads prime them to notice brake system trouble. That offer is prioritized (earns Attention & Interest) & other exposures are integrated because the benefit is Desired & prioritized for Action. Emphasize safety during inclement weather. During dry weather, offer lower expenses of maintenance compared to replacements.
Purchases might be delayed because resources (time, energy, money, etc.) aren’t available. Other priorities might be fulfilled because of importance &/or convenience (resources are available).
Even if offered benefits aren’t the highest priorities, your advantage can include conveniences. Examples: Do you offer pick & delivery, payment options, project planning, complete customized kits, & whatever else customers need to benefit fully & quickly?
