People Desire Good News or Education About Trouble, Prevention & Remedies.

If you warn about severe trouble, then recommend actions, people might raise biases like shields instead of acknowledging vulnerabilities.

Though people prioritize safety, they’re less safe when rejecting alerts. Preferences & actions conflict though people don’t notice/acknowledge.

Product options won’t help without insightful knowledge to detect vulnerabilities/symptoms; evaluate products; learn techniques/tactics; plan/strategize; observe iterative results; then finalize & maintain advantages.

This expands on Bottom-Up Marketing. Al Ries & Jack Trout advise determining what’s available & viable to develop successful strategies.

Check these analogies:

1-Science-fiction/space stories vary in what ships can do while shields are raised. Crews could be like discount shoppers disregarding specifications assuming all category products are alike. Discounters ignore specifications, so why wouldn’t customers?

Are cloaking, shields & weapons available simultaneously? Defenses & weapon-systems require energy which battles can deplete. Should cloaking/precautions be used only if enemies/hazards are detected?

Can cloaking & shields be used simultaneously to avoid enemies’ lucky shots & other hazards? While shielded, can crews access/use warp drive or hyperspace?

Can shields protect crews while counterattacking, quickly retreating &/or blasting rocks? Are navigators prepared to go around asteroid-fields & get back on course?

Fight/Flight/Freeze are typical anti-stress reactions but simultaneously incompatible & alternating (red-light/green-light) prevents progress. Customer integration establishes clarity even when customers are overwhelmed/confused by issues/questions.

2-After an accident, David Banner (“The Incredible Hulk” show) couldn’t save his wife. People have used super-human strength to save others. Banner’s bias connected gamma-rays with strength. Banner hurt himself while “confirming” his bias.

Biases effectively thwart mental/physical abilities. People might succeed short-term by exceeding natural limits but hurt themselves long-term. Express your concern & customers’ specialness by advising them about potential negatives.

Offer Example: ‘Competitors might ignore product inadequacies & hope your unawareness causes you to buy. Poor quality can be troublesome. Incorrect techniques bring frustrations. At (Store), let’s be sure you know important facts while planning. With valuable advice for choosing & using products, your expanded confidence will decrease stress & fatigue, so you’ll focus step-by-step.’

Biases often form as people focus on negative results & limitations or “entitlement” to benefits & progress.

Interpersonal understanding & sharing can preempt biases, so people don’t give up & become stuck without cooperation/collaboration.

Niche members’ priorities are fluid & necessary knowledge is circumstantial. Test ads to learn whether to explain project kits before introducing consultations or emphasize collaborative benefits to start increasing comfort/confidence.

Respondents will indicate your niche’s circumstances, concerns & questions; how members understand/interpret your explanations & offers; then preferences for applying products/methods/kits.

Until members are willing to pay, their preferences aren’t full motivations. Tests can reveal your influence over motivational reasons.

Assurance Example: ‘Your detailed focus improves as your skills/expertise, comfort & confidence expand equally. In (Store) consultations, let’s determine your destination & get you there by planning your journey, then choosing products & methods.’

Some Doomtopians eagerly “prepare” to escape without investigating conditions beyond planetary gravity. Others research to develop then explore scenarios.

If people don’t realize their circumstantial necessities exceed preparations, project aspects get out-of-balance. Gripers might quit while pioneers try extra-hard by reprioritizing activities/recovery.

It’s analogous to trying bigger hammers when lumber resists nails, possibly causing injuries & damage.

Consider what disrupts expectations & diminishes functionality & hope. Compare goals & specifications to updated observations.

To avoid unpleasant surprises, gripers preserve self-confidence by figuring the worst stuff happens at bad times. Though the worst hasn’t happened yet, gripers are positive about imminent negatives & don't advance.

Advertising Testimonials & Comparisons: Feature satisfied customers’ successful projects & others confidently starting those kinds because they’re benefiting from your advantage offers including consultations.

Communicate & Clarify Carefully.

In “What Got You Here Won't Get You There” Marshall Goldsmith wrote about people accusing others of being “confused” & wrong because of misunderstandings & disagreements. To preserve pride, people deny misunderstanding statements & situations, plus are frustrated because somebody often disagrees with THEM.

Even if you carefully encode & decode statements, entrenched biases block communication. Social proof might nudge people to consider you’re right.

Testimonials/cases reveal how customers enjoy advantages because valid desires inspire momentum. These influence dissatisfied, unmotivated people who seek improvements. Without sensory input, apathetic people seemingly figure cheerful people are confused.

Encouragement won’t banish apathy without explanations.

Apathy/Learned Hopelessness invades without functional protection against perceived (possibly real) obstacles/attacks. Realistically, apathy can be resisted internally.

You can provide external inspiration & methods to identify & move between mental/physical obstacles, so members accept/implement advantage offers.

If you & members don’t reach each other, customer integration won’t happen/last.

Awareness/Attention/Interest/Desire/Action (AIDA) don’t bring progress when cognitive labor is disjointed by confusion.

Consultations explore how to assure/reassure customers with functional hope, so you’ll remain positioned in their journeys.

Psychological filters can block inconvenient facts while biases invite/seek assurance.

Uncertainty/Insecurity can overwhelm people who conveniently “misunderstand” input or decide “facts”. Opposing viewpoints might be interpreted as controversial, lies or attacks.

Perceived insults “threaten” people who crave getting ahead instead of even. When consumers are dedicated to authorities, mere influencers don’t matter.

Defensive people reject anybody contradicting/“insulting” favored authorities.

Understand Arguments Before Debating.

On Doomtopia, some environmentalists wanted to stay, banish pollution & show polluters it’s possible. Others said that wouldn’t work because polluters contend pollution is OK & reject “improvements”.

People easily convince themselves they’d know if troubles are as bad as advertisers claim. People could figure prioritization isn’t warranted if you don’t reveal full severities.

If they consider eventually exploring issues, people find/feel pursued by multiple priorities as previous causes & effects fade. If people feel issues are beyond reach, remedies seem ineffective/inefficient.

Authorities/influencers can offset perceived, real/potential social criticism if people contradict peer pressure by using your offers. Social proof’s power depends on social rankings & numbers.

If experts dismiss claims, consumers may feel relieved if they didn’t want to buy. Others might want confirmation/social-approval for internal comfort &/or prevent social risks which hurt deeply & heal slowly.

Testimonials/cases &/or slice-of-life ads can express how people avoided problems including embarrassment compared to those who “played-it-safe” because of uncertainty.

Explain when/where/why avoidance/freezing isn’t adequate plus how to use/combine fight & flight.

If certainty is out-of-reach, guide customers in testing since guess-work might start as Yes-Work & end as long-term No-Way! Think how difficult exercises become when muscle & skin scars impede flexibility.

Mental scars restrict flexibility. Moves seem risky, so people think stability brings safety.

Though wisdom indicates people should stop digging after failing to find value, polluters physically & philosophically drill deeper.

It’s especially immorally stupid to reject better options & continue inflicting harm & other costs exceeding/negating benefits. Instead of permanent plans & goals, wisdom-seekers consistently test.

It’s realistic, not an excuse: Consider mistakes & unexpected results as tests & lessons. Define indicators before starting while preparing to discard past indicators/adopt others. To protect self-images, polluters deny causing problems, but their culpability is socially apparent.

Early failure confessions & direction changes show sound morality. Character flaws or worse become obvious as immorality instead of apparent gross negligence.

What indicates whether niche members dug enough or too little/much? What are indicators of productive digging sites before/during “excavations”?

Perseverance should be paired with wisdom, so people recognize harmful &/or wasteful actions & results. Whose permission/clearance is required? Does it require a notarized, legalese contract defining terms?

How specific can criteria be without requiring committee reviews of undefined findings? How much will personal expectations/judgments be allowed?

Biases block reticular-activating-system perceptions, but wise people recheck biases. In your offers, explain circumstantial facets people might’ve overlooked or not explored & why advantages are important.

While drilling/digging deeper &/or in other places, are people improving anything, striving to maintain conditions or inflicting more problems?

You can guide customers’ learning about improving green technology productivity & profitability.

Customers are free agents but should be advised to stop when encountering anything unfamiliar/unexpected.

Confidence Is Important but Not Justification For Advancing.

Doomtopian polluters’ first spaceflight attempt failed when they tried pushing their round ship off the “FLAT” planet’s edge. They still brag about successfully circumnavigating their planet without admitting it’s round.

Later space-travelers theorized about their favorite resource & set-out to mine it. Being insecure they refused to believe they could be wrong, they decided to get rich with “black coal” in space.

Since they never returned from that black hole, they “proved” how unhealthy “coal” is for life.

Some skepticism is wise. Confirmation seekers aren’t necessarily suspicious. Wise authorities/advisors aren’t offended when people seek second-opinions &/or alternative options.

Since words have many contextual connotations & denotations, preferred vocabularies & dialects can be barriers.

Overly sensitive/insecure types are offended when asked about misunderstandings since they’re not “stupid”. They feel smart enough to comprehend what’s said & speak clearly.

When people feel defenseless, they overcompensate with defensiveness especially against unfamiliar things.

Misunderstandings persist if bewildered attendees quiescently refrain from clarifying speakers’ references & surrendering prejudices.

Worrisome environmentalists figure black holes are reasons to stay home. Others learn & adapt plans.

If you refuse to admit imperfections, why would you expect consumers to admit they need changes?
